ABOUT IIT Goa - Indian Institute of Technology Goa

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa is an Institution of National Importance (INI) created by an Act of Parliament of India. Located in the state of Goa, it is focused on higher education and research in different engineering disciplines. It accepts students from all across the country and the world for its various degree programs.

Campus

The campus is located at Farmagudi, Ponda approximately 29 km southeast of Panaji, the capital of Goa and it is a temporary campus. The state of Goa is well connected by road ways, rail ways and air ways with various parts of the country. At present IIT Goa is temporarily accommodated and functioning in the Goa Engineering College (GEC) Campus located at Farmagudi, Goa.

IIT Goa will strive to become a unique institution of higher learning, offering state of the art education, research, and training in science and technology to have impact on society, environment and global challenges.

Mission 

The mission of IIT Goa is to impart knowledge and provide unique learning experience to prepare students to be responsible leaders, managers, entrepreneurs, and professionals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of Goa and the nation as a whole.

• The learning experience will reflect the human values of the state—diversity and inclusion.
• In the short term, IIT Goa will have a strong focus on quality education and advanced multidisciplinary programs, and in the long term, it will progress towards a self-sustaining institute.
