Responsibilities:
Selected candidates will be required to contribute to the ongoing ocean modelling, observation and data analysis activities towards objectives of the mission. It is expected that the candidate may also have to participate in the observation campaigns onboard a research vessel.
Qualification & Experience for INCOIS Vacancies 2023:
Essential Qualification
Ph.D. in Oceanic Sciences/ Atmospheric Sciences / Climate Sciences / Meteorology / Oceanography / Physical Oceanography / Physics / Mathematics or equivalent degree or having three years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after M.E./M. Tech. with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.
Desirable
(i) Work/research experience in numerical ocean modeling preferably in climate/marine ecosystem/wave/storm surges, or in the analysis of marine biogeochemical observations, or in the analysis of large climate data set.
(ii) Programming skills in Fortran, C/C++, Python, R, etc.
Salary:
The consolidated monthly stipend + HRA will be fixed as per the DST guidelines. Selected candidates will be placed in suitable level (Research Associate I/II/III) based on their qualification and post PhD research experience.
Age Limit:
Candidate should not have exceeded 35 years of age as on 31 December of the application year.
